Foods which are influenced by the science called Genetically Modified (GM) food have become commonly. According to The Ohio State University, GM food is an object whose genetic structure has been altered by adding a different gene that will express some expected features including increased productivity and against negative factors such as pests. An example of Genetically Modified food is corn, 85% corn grown in the US are GM and soy is the most heavily GM food in the industry (HuffPost, Caroline Young)
In terms of the positive influences of science on food, there are several points that can be mentioned. Firstly, GM food has been a useful investigation in many aspects. Because of the population growth, to ensure enough food for the world become a major difficulty, however, GM has the ability to fulfill the food demand of over 7 billion individuals in the next 50 years.
